The imagery is amazing, the breath of God. The divinely inspired words of God emanating to the world through the chosen prophets and apostles. Inscripturated for the benefit of man to future generations. The highest authority is accredited due to the origin, the mind of God, the heart of the Sovereign.
2 Timothy captures this beauty in chapter 3:16-17:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
Inspired by God. Actually, in the Greek, it communicates God-breathed. The Bible has long been accused of being a human contrivance, but Paul’s words to Timothy identity the source as being the divine mind. The will of God for His broken creation is given in the Scriptures.
Absent of human bias. Absent additions and deletions. The textbook for corporate instruction, understanding, and obedience is in black and white on the page – to be read, trusted, and obeyed.
