It seems, all too often that the idea of glory triggers accomplishments in the sporting realm. The real kind of glory though, divine glory rests alone in one source:
“Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory! Selah” (Psalm 24:10).
Yahweh is the One and only King who holds sovereign glory.
Psalm 19:1 reminds us that, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God”, and Isaiah 6 echoes that, “The whole earth is full of His glory” (Isaiah 6:3).
It filled the Tabernacle; it filled the Temple and it fills the Heavenly Temple; in fact, when it gets right down to it, God’s glory is all around us.
Isaiah 58:8 affirms that, “… The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.”
I love that image that somehow God’s divine glory encompasses me, protects me from harm.
Whom shall we fear?
