Lord, Make My Life a Song!

by Kelly LarsonPosted on June 1, 2018

I wrote this song in 1983. It is quite dated, but hopefully, the theology and metaphor still work.

Worthy are You who reigns above
To receive gifts of praise and love.
My gift to You is the song that I bring
Every day of my life, I want to sing.

Lord, make my life a song,
Let others see to whom I belong.
Lord, gift me strength to sing it out strong.
Lord, make my life a song.

The words are the things that I say and do.
The tune is the love I receive from You.
So I’ll sing it out loud in a special key,
I’ll sing it out loud in the key of me!

Lord, make my life a song
Let others see to whom I belong.
Lord, gift me strength to sing it out strong.
Lord, make my life a song.

I want people to see who I’m living for,
And then through me find the Open Door.
So, Lord, when they hear me, please help them to see,
That my life’s a song, but You’re the Symphony.

Lord, make my life a song
Let others see to whom I belong.
Lord, gift me strength to sing it out strong.
Lord, make my life a song to You.
Lord, make my life a song for You.
Lord, make my life a song.
